Kenzo Takada - a Japanese man who conquered Paris

Kenzo Takada infected with the joy of life and love for fashion - especially in its most optimistic version: full of expressive prints, intense patterns, and eye-catching colors. His designs were inspired by wildness and freedom, but also elements of pop culture (which eventually became itself). Kenzo fashion is a combination of streetwear freedom with coloristic expression straight from posters, colorful magazines, and Japanese cartoons.

The fashion house signed with his own name, Kenzo founded in 1970, six years after his move from Japan to Paris. The brand - resulting from the combination of Japanese creativity and French love for good style - quickly became recognizable and associated primarily with intense patterns and colors. Kenzo's designs attracted attention due to their dynamism, courage in expressing oneself, and creativity to a level hitherto unknown in the Paris fashion world.

In 1993, the Kenzo brand was bought from its creator by the LVMH group. The current creative director in it is Felipe Oliveira Baptista.

Kenzo designs - with love for pattern and color

The symbols of the brand became bold colors, patterns, and fashions - among which multicolored, dynamic animal prints (spots, stripes) and the iconic - universally associated with the brand today - tiger's head.

The tiger emblem - a symbol of untamed wildness, strength, and creative courage - appears on Kenzo products for many years in most collections. The repeatedly processed pattern in various versions can be found on Kenzo's shirts, shoes, or sweatshirts.

Not only fashion. Kenzo - perfumes that enchant

The death of Kenzo Takada is incredibly sad news not only for fans of his clothing designs, but also for thousands of fans of his perfumes around the world. Because although Kenzo will certainly be remembered primarily as a designer who brought a breath of freshness and optimism to the fashion world of the second half of the 20th century, one cannot forget about the cult fragrance compositions signed with his surname. These include the famous "Kenzo Wordl" fragrance in a characteristic bottle resembling an eye in its shape.

Kenzo perfumes show that he was a versatile artist. After he sold his brand, the Japanese man dealt with, among others, designing jewelry and ... furniture.
