Classic winter styling is, of course, warm woolen sweaters, thick down jackets, which are breaking popularity records this season, high boots, and scarves that can cover from feet to head. However, this season, winter styling takes on a completely new face. Which one? Floral!
The winter trend, or in other words, the December garden, has dominated the runways presenting collections for the autumn/winter 2019 season. Floral dresses have appeared, among others, in the collection of Richard Quinn, Dior, or – as almost always – at Dries Van Noten, where floral patterns are almost a mandatory element of each collection.
And there's nothing to be surprised about, after all, floral dresses, pants, or blazers are a simple way to create a spectacular and extremely stylish styling. But how to wear spring floral dresses when it's snowing outside and the temperature isn't pampering us?

The solution may be a long floral dress, which looks great in combination with a long thick sweater, for example this classic winter one, of thick weave. Floral dresses combined with a typical winter wardrobe item take on a completely new character. They become more expressive and their typical spring character disappears. Floral patterns can be larger or very small, as in the case of the Junya Watanabe Comme des Garcons dress.
This styling is the best example that floral dresses don't have to be boring and predictable. The combination of two seemingly contrasting and incompatible materials gives an interesting effect, which distinguishes this dress from many similar propositions. Combined with a winter sweater, or without it, a dress in this style will look very original.
Spring floral dresses also look good combined with a simple under-shirt. You will find a ready recipe for this in the proposal from All Saints, but you can also compose similar styles yourself. Autumn and winter like to deal with different types of sweaters, so to make this styling more comfortable and resistant to lower temperatures, it's worth adding a long cardigan to it, which will perfectly match the character of the whole outfit. It is also worth pairing the floral dress with heavy laced boots. This combination is a completely new, autumn-winter look at floral patterns and light, airy dresses.
What other styling can you create? Autumn likes a slightly darker color palette, so creating a winter garden in your wardrobe, you can reach for dark, typical winter flowers. Black, navy blue or burgundy shade gives the styling a slightly winter look and makes it look much more wintery than typical light, delicate dresses in floral patterns.

A dark, long floral dress is a perfect outfit for evening outings, which never lack in the holiday-carnival period. It will look perfect with a long cardigan or an elegant oversized cut blazer. This is proof that florals work not only at any time of the year, but also at any time of the day.
